A word from our interim Executive Director
A word fromOUR INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
We are living in a new era. Our world and our local environment are changing rapidly and in unforeseen ways. The effects of extreme weather systems, pressure from increasing development, and unregulated exploitation of precious and unrenewable resources, are all threats to our way of life and to the environment that we treasure in our region.
For over a quarter century, the GLLT has identified areas that can be protected in order to maintain a strong and viable ecosystem. A system that preserves native wildlife habitat, safeguards air and water quality and nurtures our creative spirit while keeping large areas open to public access and traditional use. We steward those properties according to standards and practices of the Land Trust Alliance and offer education and outreach programs to inform our friends and neighbors of the fascinating and beautiful environment we all share.
The Greater Lovell Land Trust was fortunate to have had Tom Henderson as Executive Director over the last 15 years. With Tom’s unexpected passing we lost a valued member of our community, but we keep our commitment to the land and our momentum for future.
The costs of planning and stewardship continue to rise. We ask that you consider joining us by making a donation for this important work.
