Location: Kezar Corridor Lands, Patterson Hill
Directions: From the GLLT office at 208 Main Street in Lovell, head north on Route 5. Turn right onto Old Waterford Road, which eventually turns to dirt. Follow Old Waterford Road until you reach Dan Charles Road, and at this intersection is the first parking area, which is marked by a sign and kiosk. To get to the Patterson Hill parking lot, turn down Dan Charles Road and follow it until it ends at a “T” intersection. Turn right at the T onto Patterson Hill Road. After 100 yards or so, you will see another GLLT sign and a large gravel parking lot on your right.
I am determined to get out of the office more this summer and invite anyone who'd like to join to come along. It's been a few years since I've been to several of the land trust trails, while I've been standing at my desk focused on the never-ending to-dos. I am rearranging my priorities, as it's equally important that I regularly get out to remind myself of the value of conservation.
Whether you want to pick my brain about the latest project, our new strategic plan, and the next big idea or prefer to talk about your latest outdoor adventure, (grand)kids, and exchange recipes, we can go where the trail and conversation lead us. And, if no one shows up, it's all good. Walking through the woods is where I do my best thinking.
I'll be flip-flopping between mornings (10 am) and late afternoons (4 pm) throughout much of the summer. Keep an eye on the enews or check our calendar at https://www.gllt.org/calendar to see where and when I will be in any given week. No need to sign up, just show up before 5 minutes past the hour. I look forward to having some company and meeting new people as the months unfold.
