Perfect for schools, homeschool groups, scout troops, and camps!
Greater Lovell Land Trust offers a variety of FREE environmental education programs for all grade levels. Our programs are fun, educational, and hands-on. All programs are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Programs are between 60 and 90 minutes long. Programs can be held at GLLT properties or travel to your facility.

Mainely Wildlife
Grades K-4
Discover the mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds found in the forests of Maine. See real animal biofacts, learn about wildlife needs, and how humans impact the environment which the animals call home.
Insect Exploration
Grades K-4
Learn about what makes an insect special, go on an insect safari, and discover the amazing adaptations insects have to survive.
Feathered Friends
Grades K-4
What makes a bird a bird? Why do birds sing? Why are some brightly colored and have different sized beaks? Discover the answers to these questions and more in this interactive program!
Terrific Trees

This program will be all about trees! Weโll go over tree ID, parts of the tree, and go on a scavenger hunt!
Whatโs in the Water?
Grades K-4, adapted for grades 5-8
This hands-on program allows students to learn about water quality and the tiny creatures that call the small bodies of freshwater home.
Pollinator Power!
Grades 3 & 4
This program teaches students about the importance of pollinators. Through hands-on activities, fun facts, and games, students will learn how pollinators like bees, butterflies, and birds, help plants grow, produce food, and sustain biodiversity.
Our Changing Environment
Grades 5-8
Differentiate between climate and weather and discover how YOU can help our environment in this ever-changing world.
Forest Foray
Grades 5-8
In this interactive program participants will learn about biodiversity, food webs, and the importance of conservation efforts. By the end of the program, students will not only have a deeper understanding of forest ecology but also a sense of responsibility as stewards of the environment.
Discovering the Secrets of Owls
Grades 3-8
This program introduces students to the fascinating world of owls. Through the hands-on activity of owl pellet dissection, students will explore how owls hunt, eat, and play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of local ecosystems. This program combines scientific investigation with fun learning, allowing students to become "wildlife detectives" as they uncover the mysteries hidden within owl pellets.
