Managing for Change: Forestry Field Tour

  • Greater Lovell Land Trust PO Box 225 Lovell, ME, 04051 United States (map)

Are you interested in forest management centered around building forests that will be resilient in a changing climate, forestry on your local conservation lands, or forest management in general? Join us for a site walk in the 174-acre stand where GLLT plans to conduct forestry treatments to restore stand structure, proactively address invasive forest pests, and increase resilience this fall.

The walk will be held at the Kezar Corridor Lands in Lovell and led by forester Jesse Duplin of Northwest Forest Management, who is overseeing this forest management project.

Stick around after the site walk for some "trailgating" (like tailgating, but on the trail!) to enjoy beer, soft drinks, snacks, and a chance to meet GLLT's newest staff member, Maeve Noone-Price, who has joined as our Land Manager/Conservation Forester. Other GLLT staff will also be there to chat with you about all things related to forest management.

Please note that this event will involve walking off-trail over uneven terrain through the woods. While we don't plan to walk far, please be prepared to do some bushwhacking. Sturdy shoes, long pants, and a hiking pole will be your friend on this walk.
